 Deer Hunter 3 Patch History


1.1 Fixes / Features:

  • Added DEDICATED SERVER software (see Readme file)
  • Changed Competitive M/P scoring
  • Added Message of the Day for M/P
  • New map added - includes many vehicles.
  • Voodoo2 3D accelerator card recognition problem fixed.
  • Voodoo Banshee crash when desktop is at 32 bit (windowed mode) fixed.
  • Map version checking in M/P fixed. Hunter settings now being saved correctly.
  • Deer AI changed to respond more realistically to sound. Deer AI changed slightly overall.
  • Added a season indicator to the location name for display in the lists.
  • Deer run farther away when you shoot and miss.
  • Fixed problem of not rendering ambient models (cabins, etc.) in software mode.
  • Fog will now burn off during the day.
  • Added computer timestamp and hunter name to trophies in the trophy room.
  • Fixed sight adjustment for bow and crossbow to adjust the 'up' much farther.
  • 22 point bucks made more rare.
  • Added date to the server information dialog.
  • GameSpy : Sort the GameSpy list by Ping (or by column when clicked).
  • Fixed Poaching logic between seasonal hunt and quick hunt.
  • Decreased Walk and run speed of deer a bit.
  • Fixed so fish and other water based animals NEVER come out of the water.
  • Added a mouse and joystick sensitivity bar in controls screen.
  • Fixed scopes in software mode.
  • No longer required to prime the muzzleloader before firing.
  • Added warnings before game/round will end in multiplayer.

1.2 Fixes / Features:

  • Four New Rifles Added: .270 Bolt Action Rifle, .280 Bolt Action Rifle, .308 Bolt Action Rifle and 30-30 Lever Action Rifle
  • Scope reticles now interchangeable.
  • GameSpy game list arrow controls fixed.
  • Multiplayer blind/treestand issues resolved.
  • Servers now pre-cache ALL player models and skins on startup.
  • Day restart logic fixed.
  • Multiplayer player info dialogue fixed.
  • Dedicated servers no longer load unnecessary screen data on startup if they don't already exist.
  • Fixed double trophies in single player.
  • MOTD duration now dependent on the length of the message.
  • Deer AI adjustments.
  • Commands from defcmds.cfg now get imported every time you startup if they don't already exist.
  • Blinds, decoys, drip bags, crop seeds, etc get removed from game in multiplayer when the person who placed them leaves.
  • Multiplayer trophy room, weapon added after the game type (or name player who did the shooting).
  • Chances of bad weather increased a bit.

1.3 Fixes / Features:

  • NEW Hunter config file viewer included
  • Y2K issues with season mode fixed
  • Deer freezing fixed
  • Stand and vehicle multiplayer transitions fixed
  • Client lockup even though connection is still fine fixed
  • Now correctly giving sight information when sighting multiple weapons
  • Game time of day and day transitions fixed
  • Treestands dropping to ground level fixed
  • Cycling view in multiplayer will no longer cause player to hang on occasion
  • 3D sound issues resolved
  • Many other minor fixes and tweaks

1.31 Fixes / Features:

  • A problem had been detected in the 1.3 patch which causes the game to crash during certain season hunts. This 1.31 patch remedies this.
